Ministry Stewardship Programs
 British Columbia is biologically diverse with a wealth of natural resources like clean water, air and land. The responsible restoration, protection and enhancement of our environment are critical not only to our quality of life, but to the preservation of our plants, animals and their habitats. We must also address the global challenge of climate change and preserve the natural beauty and recreational opportunities our province is known for worldwide.
Protecting our environment will require many different strategies and actions over the coming years – and everyone has a role to play. Below are many of the programs and tools developed by the Ministry of Environment and some of its stakeholders to continue to restore, protect and enhance our environment for future generations. You will find guidelines and standards for the use of natural resources, education and outreach tools and initiatives, environmental monitoring and reporting systems and actions we all can take to protect the environment.
