100 Geocaches - BC Parks 100 Celebration

Geocaching is a popular outdoor recreation activity that involves using Global Positioning System (GPS) units to locate hidden containers, called Geocaches. As part of BC Parks 100 celebration, BC Parks supported 100 Geocaches, an exciting geocaching adventure!

GeoCache Coin

In partnership with the Geocaching Association of B.C. and sponsored by the Camping and RVing Coalition and Year of Science, BC Parks hosted a centennial themed geocache event.

Geocaches were placed in 100 locations across the province in BC Parks as well as other locations such as recreational sites and private campgrounds. Geocaches contain BC Parks 100 commemorative coins and other memorabilia.

The launch was on June 26, at Miracle Beach and ran through the fall of 2011. This initiative offered a great opportunity for those who like to use technology, such as GPS units, to get active in BC Parks!

Geocaching Policy
