Park Info:

Designated in January of 2001, Mount Blanchet Park protects valuable wildlife habitat including spring range for ungulates on the south-facing slopes along the northwest arm of Takla Lake. Significan caribou over-wintering and calving areas, and alpine habitat suitable to mountain goat and grizzly bear. Sockeye salmon frequent several of the creeks.

This mountainous park is located between the northwest arm and the main body of Takla Lake at Takla Narrows. There is no road access or facilities provided. (Map reference 93N/4 & 93N/5.)

	Bring your own drinking water as potable water is not available in the park.

	There are no developed trails in this park however, there is a rough trail from the shore of Takla Lake to Mt. Blanchet. For your own safety and the preservation of the park, obey posted signs and keep to designated trails. Shortcutting trails destroys plant life and soil structure.
	This park does not have a playground.
	No swimming.
	There are no opportunities for canoeing or kayaking in this park.
	This park does not have a boat launch.
	Anyone fishing or angling in British Columbia must have an appropriate license
	Cycling is not permitted.
	No horseback riding.
	Pets/domestic animals must be on a leash at all times and are not allowed in beach areas or park buildings. You are responsible for their behaviour and must dispose of their excrement. Backcountry areas are not suitable for dogs or other pets due to wildlife issues and the potential for problems with bears.
	Extensive alpine provides valuable habitat for local caribou, mountain goat and grizzly bear. Although difficult to access, this park provides a good wildlife viewing opportunities.
	No winter recreation opportunities.
	No SCUBA diving or snorkelling opportunities.
	No windsurfing opportunities.
	No waterskiing opportunities.
	Hunting is permitted only during lawful game hunting season. Check with Hunting and Trapping Synopsis for regulations.
	No climbing or rock climbing opportunities.
	No spelunking or caving opportunities.
	No cabins, yurts or lodges for public use.
