Message from the Premier
We live in a great province with a spectacular provincial parks system that draws millions of people to British Columbia every year to experience world-class recreation opportunities in the best place on Earth.
In 2004, we added 37 more parks to one of
the best parks systems in the world. Places like the Shuswap
River
Islands,
Pennask Creek in the Okanagan, Eagle Bay in the Skeena
and the old-growth Sitka spruce forest along the Kitimat
River are now preserved forever.
I encourage you to take the time to explore our parks and discover your own favourite corner of B.C. – from the rugged beauty of the north and our coastal rainforests to the unmatched scenery of the Okanagan deserts and the vast mountain ranges of the Interior.
The BC Parks website will help you plan your next provincial
park adventure. Here you’ll find information on
more than 800 provincial parks, protected areas, recreation
areas and ecological reserves, each providing a
different
experience for visitors and outdoor enthusiasts
In B.C.’s parks, visitors get to experience our province’s natural beauty up close. The more you explore our parks, the more you’ll realize how lucky we are to live here and to call B.C. home..
Gordon Campbell, Premier
