A family-friendly event was held on September 1st, 2018, to celebrate the opening of the new park, Ancient Forest/ Chun T’oh Whudujut. This celebration included a welcome to the Territory by the Lheidli T’enneh First Nations and an official MoU signing between the Lheidli T’enneh and the Ministry of Environment, recognizing the co-management of Chun T’oh Whudujut.

Afternoon events included local artists and musicians, from highland dancers and quilters, to painters and poets, scattered throughout the forest performing and showing off their creations. Attendees with an interest in science and learning about the forest’s incredible biodiversity were encouraged to join a guided nature walk. Nearly 800 individuals attended from Prince George and The Robson Valley.
