BC Parks Student Design Competition
BC Parks' iconic picnic tables have gone unchanged for more than 50 years. The picnic tables have become well-known, and are being used as a standard in all B.C. provincial parks. As an exciting BC 150 challenge, BC Parks gave post-secondary students a great opportunity to show off their skills by creating a new picnic table design that would be appropriate within a provincial park setting.
The contest closed on November 28, 2008. Congratulations to Jonathon Lambert of UBC, who won the prize of $3000 for his excellent design, pictured below. Many other quality entries were received which meant the adjudication process took longer than expected - BC Parks wishes to thank all who participated!
