GET OUTDOORS WITH BC PARKS!

Project G.O.! Get Outdoors with BC Parks is a pilot project promoting youth recreation in British Columbia's provincial parks. Project G.O.! believes that youth are a key audience to encourage lifelong appreciation and use of our provincial parks.
What Are Provincial Parks?
Provincial parks are designated areas that offer protection from all commercial resource extraction, for the purpose of protecting a system of representative and special landscapes and features. Provincial parks serve outdoor recreation, tourism, environmental education and heritage appreciation purposes. BC Parks offer everything from great hiking trails, swimming and water sports, picnicking and day-use facilities, camping, wildlife watching, nature appreciation, and more. Our Goals:
- to encourage youth to become lifelong users of provincial parks;
- to increase outdoor recreation and health; and
- to provide a place to experience nature, learn about the environment, and appreciate the special places that provincial parks protect.
To accomplish these goals, Project G.O.! is raising awareness among youth leaders in Southern Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland about the range of exciting activities and opportunities available in provincial parks.
Our Partners
Project G.O.!s the result of a partnership between BC Parks, the BC Conservation Corps and the BC Conservation Foundation. The project also receives funding from the Ministry of Health's ActNow initiative. Where possible, Project G.O.! looks to connect with other organizations who share our objectives.
