BC Parks Household Survey 2005 - Provincial Report


BC Stats, Surveys and Analysis Section (Ministry of Labour and Citizen Services) on behalf of BC Parks, conducted a province-wide telephone survey of 2,000 British Columbians in November 2005. BC Stats employed slightly different techniques and methodologies than have been used in previous BC Parks' surveys. To find out more, view the following results of this survey:

Bear-People Conflict Prevention Plan


This bear-people conflict prevention plan provides direction and guidelines for BC Parks staff to use when confronted with bear management situations in provincial parks.

Risk Assessment of Bear-Human Interaction at Campsites on the Tatshenshini River and Lower Alsek River, Yukon, B.C., and Alaska


Campsites along the Tatshenshini River and Lower Alsek River from Shaw'ashe/Dalton Post, Yukon to Dry Bay, Alaska were evaluated for their potential for bear-human interaction, including displacement of bears from feeding areas and direct bear-human encounters.

Stawamus Chief, Shannon Falls and Murrin Provincial Parks
Rock Climbing Strategy


BC parks and a volunteer group of climbers have developed the attached strategy to manage rock climbing in Stawamus Chief, Shannon Falls, and Murrin Provincial Parks. The strategy will be used to direct management activities related to rock climbing in the the three parks. It must be stressed that this strategy is site specific and will not be applicable to the situations found in many other provincial parks.

Striking the Balance - BC Parks Policy, September 1991


Striking the Balance is a living policy for BC Parks and is an important component of the land use strategy since it provides a statement of the broad policies against which a provincial park system plan must be judged.

Visions Newsletters - Archived


Visions newsletter was produced six times per year by BC Parks to maintain commitment to quality service and stewardship and to encourage innovation by everyone directly involved or interested in BC Parks. The newsletter is no longer in production.

The BC Government Publications Index is an an internet searchable listing of available government publications. The Index includes a listing of Government Ministry Publications, pamphlets, as well as many forms. A number of publications are also included from participating government-funded organizations, such as Crown corporations.
