Volunteer Park Host Opportunity:
Texas Creek Campground on Popular Christina Lake
Quality Recreation Ltd. is accepting applications for volunteer Park Hosts.
Park Host positions are well-suited for the semi-retired or retired couples who love people and working in the outdoors. Hosts must supply their own accommodation (RV).
Hosting is a non-paid position assisting our Park Operators and is meant to enhance the enjoyment for our park visitors. Park Hosts are an integral part of our team and help to welcome visitors, provide park and tourism information, sell firewood and ice, open or close park gates and help with other light duties.
At Texas Creek we are looking for a couple who would like to do the volunteer hosting AND also work part-time as Park Operators for remuneration. Paid duties may include fee collection, enforcement, painting, raking, site cleaning, bathrooms or servicing the marine sites. It is possible for one person to take on the hosting duties while their partner works near full time hours or both individuals could work part time and cover the hosting duties together.
The Hosting Position at Texas Creek (Gladstone Provincial Park) requires a full season commitment and begins in early May and ends in mid-September.
Shorter Term Hosting Opportunities
Quality Recreation also has shorter term hosting opportunities at a small rustic park in the South Okanagan / Boundary Region. We require a 4 weeks consecutively or longer hosting commitment for Johnstone Creek or Boundary Creek. These parks are smaller rustic parks and the campsite does NOT HAVE POWER, WATER or SEWER. Hosts must supply their own accommodation (RV). Host will be asked to be on duty and available to answer questions for a MINIMUM of 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, preferably in the afternoons and/or evenings and on weekends. Duties also would include firewood sales, fee collection and light duty work.Applicants Must Submit:
- Resume of individual or couple (including references)
- Indicate the park(s) of interest
- Indicate if either individual would like to work for pay (in addition to hosting)
- Indicate your availability (start and end date)
- All applicants must be bondable and able to pass a criminal record check that includes the section working with children and vulnerable people.
If you are interested in working as a volunteer or would like more information, please email Jeff Kuly at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for your interest in hosting!
