Welcome to the new Ministry of Environment careers website!

The Ministry of Environment is truly a unique place to work – a place where regular, day-to-day work has the potential to change the world for the better. Barry Penner, Minister of Environment

With more than 50 different types of jobs across B.C., the ministry brings together the talent and expertise of over 1,400 people. Their skills and backgrounds are diverse but they share a common goal: Ensuring that British Columbia leads the world in sustainable environmental management, with the best air and water quality, and the best fisheries management.

During the next five years, roughly 25 per cent of these dedicated individuals will be eligible to retire, making it a priority for us to attract new talent to our ranks.

By its very nature, the Ministry of Environment is a rich, varied place to work. We employ scientists, biologists, policy and legislation experts, administration and human resources specialists, engineers, conservation officers, park rangers and financial officers. The ministry has something to offer to almost everyone – from seasoned veterans, to those just starting out in their careers. And you never know what opportunities may lay ahead!

As you browse around these pages, I encourage you to think of your own career goals and plans. Think what it would mean to make a difference to the environment while working in a fulfilling job that offers you the opportunity to grow and learn, and the stability necessary to reach your long-term goals.

Thank you,

Barry Penner
