Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions
The Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS) is hosted and led by the University of Victoria in collaboration with the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University and the University of Northern British Columbia.
Building on the strengths of these four research-intensive universities, PICS harnesses the province's intellectual resources to develop innovative climate change solutions, seek new opportunities for positive adaptation and lead the way to a vibrant low-carbon economy.
The institute's mission is to partner with governments, the private sector, other researchers and civil society in order to undertake research on, monitor and assess the potential impacts of climate change and to assess, develop and promote viable mitigation and adaptation options to better inform climate change policies and actions.
