Objectives
The
objectives of the Web Administrators Committee are to support the
business of the ministry and to contribute to more efficient and
effective operations of the ministry by:
- providing
advice, recommendations and feedback related to ministry web
usage (on the Internet, Intranet and Extranet) to individual
business units, the Web steering committee and key Web support
staff;
- serving
as a body for discussion and resolution of Web problems experienced
by business units;
- collaborating
and sharing information on Web techniques, resources, contracted
services, and best practices;
- contributing
to the planning and development of business standards, guidelines
and best practices for managing business information and applications
on the Web;
- contributing
to the planning and development of technical standards, guidelines,
templates and tools required to support the ministry's business
on the Web;
- exploring
opportunities to share common applications and to conduct
joint application development projects between business units;
- communicating
and disseminating relevant information to ministry information
systems working groups such as the Information Management
Working Group, the Systems Officers Working Group and the
Application Managers Working Group;
- exploring
opportunities to work with other ministries, the private sector,
and other organizations;
- where
appropriate, identifying and raising Web issues to the Web
steering committee, and
- making
recommendations regarding roles, responsibilities, skills
and training requirements.
Membership
The
committee will be comprised of Web
Administrators [Intranet] from the ministry's
branches, programs and regions.

Administration
The
committee is currently chaired by Joe Carr, the Manager of
Web Services, Information Management Branch.
The
chair is responsible for calling for agenda items, timely distribution
of agendas, minutes, and materials required for the work of the
committee.
