Standards

The Resource Information Standards Committee (RISC) has established a common set of standards for Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping (TEM) and Predictive Ecosystem Mapping (PEM). The inventory standards outline the recommended procedures for field inventory and ecosystem mapping while the associated technical standards outline the procedures and rules for capturing, storing, and submitting project data that is to be maintained in a provincial data warehouse.

Links to the TEM inventory and technical standards, including an addendum to the technical standards, are listed below:

The TEM and PEM standards are also available in print form. Please visit the BC Government publications Index for more information and to order copies.

A number of related inventory methodologies and classification systems form key components of both the TEM and PEM standards. Please use the following links for more information:

Standard data capture forms and applications are also available, please visit the TEM Data Capture page for more information.
