Collaboration and Cooperation
- Partnerships in Emergency Prevention and Preparedness
To effectively prepare for and respond to an environmental emergency such as a major oil spill, inter-agency collaboration is necessary. Partnerships enable spill response agencies to share knowledge and resources, allowing for greater preparedness.
- Inter-Agency Contingency Plans
Inter-agency environmental emergency contingency plans allow spill response agencies from various levels of government in Canada and the US to collaborate in spill prevention, preparedness and response.
- Hazardous Materials Storage and the Risk of Spring Flooding
As most B.C. residents are aware, there is an increased risk of flooding from high snow packs that have accumulated in most regions of the province this spring. The Ministry of Environment would like to remind businesses and residents to ensure that plans and actions are in place to safeguard all hazardous materials stored in locations which may be subject to flooding.
