How Fuel and Engine Choice Affect Pollutant Emissions
This figure compares pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions from cars burning conventional gasoline, cars burning E10 (10% ethanol, 90% gasoline blend) and gasoline/electric hybrids. Conventional gasoline has the highest emissions in all categories and hybrids the lowest. Pollutant amounts are shown relative to emissions from a gasoline/electric hybrid.
