Consultation Information for Regulations

The ministry has adopted a web-based approach for consultation on intentions papers. The papers describe the ministry's objectives, the proposed content of the regulations, aspects of particular concern for the protection of human health and the environment, and other relevant information.

Each intentions papers will be posted on this website for 45 days. Please submit your comments on the paper either by fax, e-mail, letter or by completing the applicable web-based response form. Consultation contact information, instructions and response forms are posted on a web page for each code of practice or regulations. Please submit your comments or completed response form by the date specified on the web page or form for each code of practice or regulation. You are encouraged to forward this invitation to others who you feel may wish to comment on these papers.

After the consultation period is complete, comments received during this period will be summarized and posted in a consultation summary report. In addition, after the ministry reviews the consultation feedback, the finalized Intentions Paper for Consultation will provide a framework for drafting the regulations.

Please note that comments received will be treated with confidentiality by ministry staff and contractors when compiling these consultation comments. However, comments you provide and information that identifies you as the source of those comments may be publicly available if a Freedom of Information request is made under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
