Spill Reporting Regulation
The Ministry of Environment has completed a number of amendments to the Spill Reporting Regulation, of the Environmental Management Act (EMA). The regulation establishes a protocol for reporting the unauthorized release of substances into the environment as well as a schedule detailing reportable amounts for certain substances.
The recent amendment to the regulation replaced the previous schedule for reportable levels of certain substances in order to align the provincial requirements with federal requirements.
