Aquaculture
The ministry regulates the discharge of wastes from land-based and marine-based aquaculture operations. Registration and compliance with the Finfish Aquaculture Waste Control Regulation or the Land-based Finfish Waste Control Regulation provides legal authorization for finfish farms to discharge waste, without permits, while ensuring that aquaculture wastes are managed in an environmentally sustainable manner.
