Integrated Pest Management

The Ministry of Environment administers the British Columbia Integrated Pest Management Act and Regulations, which:
- regulates the sale, use and handling of pesticides in the province; and
- promotes an Integrated Pest Management approach to managing pests.
A Special Committee was appointed in October, 2011 to explore banning the unnecessary use of pesticides in British Columbia. On May 17, 2012 it released its report. The legislature will now determine how to proceed. The time frame for this decision has not been announced.
