Integrated Pest Management

Current Editions of Study Kits
British Columbia Pesticide Certification

The following is a list of the study kit items for each pesticide applicator and dispenser certification category. The dates indicated for the study kit items are for currently accepted editions to study for the pesticide certification examination. Older editions, with dates not listed below, are not suitable to use and a newer edition should be obtained from the Distribution Centre using the Order Form.

1. Aerial

B.C. uses the training materials and exams offered by other provinces. The following provinces sell the Canadian Aerial Applicator Association-endorsed national training manual and administer an aerial applicator exam acceptable to B.C.:

Alberta
Contact: Lakeland College
1-866-853-8646
Saskatchewan
Contact: Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology
1-866-467-4278
Manitoba
Contact: Assiniboine Community College

Ontario
Contact: Ridgetown College

  • To obtain a B.C. Aerial Pesticide Applicator Certificate, a pilot must first pass the aerial pesticide applicator examination administered by one of the provinces listed above. After obtaining an aerial pesticide applicator certificate from one of these provinces, the pilot must then pass a short "open book" exam on the B.C. Integrated Pest Management Act and Regulation. Study materials for this exam are the documents on the websites:
  • A pilot who has been issued an aerial applicator certificate from one of the provinces listed above and who obtains at least 75% on the B.C. Integrated Pest Management Act and Regulation exam will be issued a B.C. Aerial Pesticide Applicator Certificate valid for five years from the date the out-of-province aerial applicator certificate was issued.
