Registration Information for Businesses
To register a company in the Lead-Acid Battery Collection Program as a Broker, Processor or Transporter, a registration process must be completed. Click on one of the following links to download the registration form that applies to your business.
Broker: A person or business that collects used batteries from multiple sources and reassembles them into larger loads for transportation to another broker or processor.
Processor: A person or business involved in breaking lead-acid batteries and recycling or selling the battery constituents for recycling.
Transporter: A person or business who has obtained a Hazardous Waste Transport License (transporting 1000 kg and greater) from the ministry and engages in transporting bulk loads of used lead-acid batteries.

Properly completed Hazardous Waste Manifests must accompany all used battery shipments of 1000 kg or more. A photocopy of a fully completed Hazardous Waste Manifest must be supplied in the Transportation Incentive Application (TIA) for every load of batteries being claimed for Transportation Incentive Payments (TIAs).
