Product Stewardship

Electronics and Electrical Product Category

Electronics and electrical products (e-waste), including batteries and accessories, are managed by product stewardship agencies in accordance with their stewardship plans approved under the Recycling Regulation.

In December 2009, the Electronics and Electrical Product Category (Schedule 3) in the Recycling Regulation was amended. The table below outlines the phases for the e-waste category.

• Large appliances
• Lighting equipment
• Medical devices
• Monitoring and control instruments
• Toys, leisure and sports equipment
• Batteries used in Phase 5 products
• Accessories for use with any e-waste products
