Product Stewardship

Used Lubricating Oil, Filters and Containers

The British Columbia Used Oil Management Association (BCUOMA), a not-for-profit association that administers a used oil, filter and container stewardship program under its stewardship plan approved by the ministry. The program began on July 22, 2003 and is similar to those that have been operating successfully in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

The requirement for producers to have and implement a stewardship program for these products is in Schedule 2 of the Recycling Regulation.
