Tree-Marking Paint
Stewardship Plan
In 2006, government approved the Tree-Marking Paint Association's Stewardship Plan to manage unused or leftover commercial aerosol paints.
The Recycling Regulation provides a legal framework for establishing industry-led product stewardship programs. Section 4 of the Regulation requires producers to submit a stewardship plan and specific product categories may also have unique plan requirements listed in the Regulation's Product Schedules. The basic components required in a stewardship plan are specified in section 5 of the Regulation and include:
- Product Recovery Target(s)
- Stakeholder Consultation
- Collection System
- Consumer Awareness
- Program Performance Measurement
- Dispute Resolution
- Product Life Cycle Management
- Pollution Prevention Hierarchy
An updated stewardship plan will be posted once this plan is approved.
