Assessment of Bacteriological Indicators in False Creek With Recommendations for Bacteriological Water Quality Objectives for Recreational Uses
This technical report examines microbiological data collected in False Creek between 1990 and 2002. The report also includes an examination of recreational guidelines used in other jurisdictions. The report concludes with recommendations to amend the 1990 Burrard Inlet Water Quality Objectives to include recreation as a protected water use in False Creek (currently it is not a protected water use in False Creek). A common marine water indicator used in recreational waterbodies worldwide (enterococci) is the parameter recommended for use in False Creek.
