The Omineca Region covers the northeast corner of British Columbia.
The Environmental Protection program has four main divisions in the Omineca Region: Environmental Management, Environmental Quality, Integrated Pest Management and Flood Hazard Management.
The Environmental Management Section is responsible for regulating waste discharges to the land, air and water. We are also responsible for regulating the clean-up of contaminated sites, emergency spill response and hazardous waste storage, treatment and disposal.
Our Environmental Quality group assesses the impacts of pollution from a wide variety of sources and completes ambient monitoring of the air, land, plants and water.
We also have staff responsible for administering Integrated Pest Management and Flood Hazard Management issues.
