This report advises on options for implementing the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment 14th liability principle (PDF/108KB) adopted nationally in 2006. The ministry is considering features of options 2 and 5, with possible future initiatives based on the work of the National Brownfields Association.

Call for Review and Comment - Report of the EPH/LEPH/HEPH Task Force
The Science Advisory Board has prepared a report and recommendations regarding the use of EPH results for comparison with the Contaminated Sites Regulation soil standards for LEPH and HEPH. These documents have been posted for public comment on the SAB web page. Comments should be sent by August 1, 2004 to Katherine O'Leary.
To allow time for public comment and subsequent revisions, the EPH to LEPH/HEPH equivalency for contaminated sites regulatory purposes will be extended to January 1, 2005.
