COMMENT PERIOD EXTENDED TO OCTOBER 1, 2008

The ministry has just released for public review and comment three revised documents:

• Protocol 12: Site Risk Classification System (draft) (PDF/787 KB / 34 pages)
  
  A working group assisted the ministry in developing the most recent draft of this protocol and we thank the members for their assistance.   To assist the ministry in finalizing this procedure, a working group was formed with members from the private sector, local governments and the ministry assisted by a legal advisor under contract. This working group was asked to comment on drafts 18 and 29 of the document, and for completeness, the ministry's responses to those comments have been recorded as well as our responses to comments on draft 15 (released for comment in December 2006). The draft protocol and procedure documents above were initially released to the public for comment in December 2006 and have been the subject of extensive review and consultation since that time. Over the past year, facilitated working groups provided valuable feedback for draft Protocol 12 and the draft Site Profile Processing Procedure.

The comment period on these draft documents has been extended. Please send your comments on these most recent drafts, preferably in MS Word format, no later than October 1, 2008 to:
