4.4 Reports


4.4.1 Detailed results report

The Detailed Results Report allows EMS WR users to create a predefined report that displays detailed analytical results and a statistical summary for each parameter in the report.

When you click on the Detailed Results Report button on the main menu, the Detailed Results Report - Criteria page opens:

This page allows you to search the EMS database for detailed results using the search criteria you enter.

Main Menu button returns you to the main menu You will lose any entered criteria.
... (multi selection symbol) link - multiple items opens multi selection list related to that field For details, see Multi selection lists
EMS ID field searches based on alphanumeric identifier for an EMS monitoring location mandatory
Region field searches based on ministry region  
Office Code field searches based on ministry office responsible for monitoring location  
Establishing Agency field searches based on name of agency that established monitoring location  
Analyzing Agency field searches based on agency that performed sample analysis  
Location Type field searches based on monitoring location type For example, 13 = lake or pond
Monitoring Group field searches for a monitoring group A monitoring group represents a collection of monitoring locations in EMS.
Permit ID field searches for number assigned to a permit Enter only the numeric part of a permit number (e.g. for permit # PA01234 you would enter 1234 in this field).
Collection Start Date field restricts report to samples with a collection start date on or after this date mandatory

Use this field to specify the start date when selecting by range.

Collection End Date field restricts report to samples with a sample collection start date on or before this date mandatory

Use this field to specify the end date when selecting by range.

Specific Month drop-down list restricts report to analytical results for the selected month Use the drop down list to select a specific month.
Sample State field the type of sample For example, FW = Fresh Water
Sample Descriptor field searches based on further description of the sample type For example, GE = General
Collection Method field searches based on method used to collect the sample For example, GRB = Grab
Study field searches for a study stored in EMS A study in EMS is the grouping of a collection of samples.
Parameter Code field searches based on analytical test for which the result is reported For example 0013 = Temperature

Use this field to restrict search to monitoring locations with analytical results for a specific parameter.

Measurement Units field searches based on units of reported result  
QA Index field restricts report to samples with specified QA index The QA index indicates the level of confidence in result.
Data Index field restricts search to samples with specified Data index The Data Index groups the data according to the QA indexes for reporting purposes.
Watershed Code field searches based on body of water's relationship to its watershed  
[globe] linked image (beside Watershed Code field) Opens Watershed Dictionary - Standard Watershed Code Query page For details, see Looking up Watershed Codes
Eco Region field [currently not functional]  
(Order By) Date field sorts sample results in the report by sample date default

You can choose Sample State at the same time to have the report sort results by sample state, then by sample date. If you select neither, the report displays each result by sample state, then by parameter code.

This page tells you how to create and access a Detailed Results Report:

This page allows you to generate a report based on the criteria you entered into the Detailed Results Report - Criteria page.


This table explains page items:

main menu button opens the Main Menu Clicking Main Menu (before Generate Report) cancels report generation.
Report Name title displays the name EMS WR has assigned to your report  
Report Format title displays the report format PDF (Portable Document Format) is the only format available for the report.
generate report button instructs EMS WR to create the report After clicking this button, you will remain in the same screen. Use the other buttons to move around.
criteria button opens the Detailed Results Report - Criteria page Any criteria previously entered will be gone.

 

4.4.2 Historical statistics report

The historical statistics report allows EMS WR users to create a predefined report that provides a detailed historical statistical summary for each parameter in the report.

4.4.3 Pool/hot tub report

The Pool/Hot Tub report allows EMS WR users to create a predefined report of bacteriological data for pools and hot tubs.

Health Region drop-down list restricts report to samples associated with monitoring locations within this health region mandatory

Use the drop down list to select a specific health region.

Monitoring Location field searches based on alphanumeric identifier for an EMS monitoring location  
Location Type field searches based on monitoring location type restricted to monitoring location types D1 - D8
(Time Period - Date Specified) From field restricts report to samples with a collection start date on or after this date mandatory

Use this field to specify start date when selecting by range.

(Time Period - Date Specified) To field restricts report to samples with a collection start date on or before this date mandatory

Use this field to specify end date when selecting by range

4.4.4 List of generated reports

The List of Generated Reports page allows EMS WR users to download the predefined reports they have created.

When you click on the List of Generated Reports button on the Main Menu, the List of Generated Reports page opens:

This page allows you to see a list of the reports you have generated and their status. This page also allows you to download and view those reports.
