4.5 Select Monitoring Location


The Select Monitoring Location page allows EMS WR users to search for EMS IDs.

Tip: in general, you should use the Monitoring Locations tool (accessible from the Main Menu) to find EMS IDs, because it has more search options and gives you the ability to download and save ID information.

When you click on the multi selection symbol (...) beside the EMS ID field in any Criteria page, the Select Monitoring Locations page opens:

This page allows users to enter search criteria to find EMS IDs on the EMS database.
This table explains page items:

Item Text Item Type Description Notes
... (multi selection symbol) link - multiple items opens multi selection list related to that field For details, see Multi selection lists
Location Name field searches based on monitoring location name  
Office field searches based on ministry office responsible for monitoring location  
Establishing Agency field searches based on agency that established monitoring location  
Location Type field searches based on monitoring location type For example, 13 = lake or pond.
Monitoring Group field searches for a monitoring group A monitoring group represents a collection of monitoring locations in EMS.
Watershed Code field searches based on body of water's relationship to its watershed  
[globe] linked image (beside Watershed Code field) Opens Watershed Dictionary - Standard Watershed Code Query page For details, see Looking up Watershed Codes
Permit field searches for number assigned to a permit Enter only the numeric part of a permit number (e.g. for permit # PA01234 you would enter 1234 in this field).
Search button initiates the search for monitoring locations When you click search, the page reloads and the results appear in Multi selection lists below the search criteria fields. You might have to scroll down to see your results.
Cancel button returns users to the report's Criteria page

Select button returns selected monitoring locations to the EMS ID or Monitoring Location field in the previous criteria screen For the Monitoring Locations - Criteria and Data Results - Criteria pages, if you select only one monitoring location, the Location Name field will display the name associated with the EMS ID.
Cancel button returns you to the previous Criteria page
