Root Activity and Mycorrhizae of Douglas-fir Seedlings Melanie Jones Melanie Jones has been a faculty member in the Biology Department at Okanagan University College since 1990. Her research interests are in the ecophysiology of ectomycorrhizal root systems. She has published extensively on the effects of various silviculture practices on communities of ectomycorrhizal fungi. Melanie is now using innovative methods for studying the physiology of ectomycorrhizal fungi in situ. Shufu Dong Shufu is at Okanagan University College.
