Fish Data Submission

Fish Data Submission is a service for fisheries managers, biologists, technicians and contractors to submit their fisheries data and sampling information to the Province.

Around the province, fisheries information and data are gathered by individuals and companies as part of scientific or environmental studies. Most of this work is permitted under authority of a Scientific Fish Collection Permit (Permit and Authorization Service Bureau) issued by the Province. A requirement of this permit is that all fish sampling information must be submitted to the Province. The Fish Data Submission service has been developed to facilitate the submission process.

There are minimum data standards that must be followed when submitting your fisheries information and data to this service. Adherence to the submission standards is critical and is required so that any data or information submitted will be compatible with the province's fisheries datasets. For more information, please consult the minimum data standards.

If you have questions about any part of the Fish Data Submission process, please email question to fishdatasub@gov.bc.ca.
