Disclosure and Use of Personal Information for Submissions

The Ministry of Environment collects a limited amount of personal information for the purpose of including your comments in the Wildlife Act Review website.  In addition, any personal information about yourself, including any opinions you may express, which are included in your submissions will be collected by the Ministry.

Submissions forwarded to the Wildlife Act Review Project will be posted, along with the name of the submitter. Anyone who does not want their submission and/or name to be posted on the Wildlife Act Review website must inform the Wildlife Act Review Project of this by stating in their submission that they do not want their submission and/or name to be posted.

The Ministry may use your personal information, such as the opinions you expressed, for the purpose of posting them online, quoting them, preparing reports on the Wildlife Act Review Website and the Wildlife Act Review Discussion Paper, data analysis or communications materials regarding key wildlife management issues raised in these submissions.  Your identifying information will not be reported in any communications materials, reports, research or evaluation results.

Your personal information is collected under the authority of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. If you have any questions about the collection of your personal information, please contact:

By clicking the “Comment on this Section” button in each section of the online Wildlife Act Review Discussion Paper or by forwarding comments to the Wildlife Act Review Project, you give consent to the Ministry of Environment to use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • Disclosure inside and outside Canada of any personal information, including your opinions, which you may include in your submissions; and
  • Analysis of the key wildlife management issues raised in the online submissions.

YOUR CONSENT IS VALID AND IN EFFECT UNTIL IT IS REVOKED IN WRITING.

By submitting information to The Province of British Columbia ("The Province"), you grant the Province a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide licence to sublicence, use, transmit, copy, edit, excerpt and display such information in any and all media now known or hereinafter devised and represent that you have all necessary rights in such posting.

The website and all of the information it contains are provided on an “as is” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including without limitation or fitness for a particular purpose. The Province does not warrant that any information is complete or accurate, that the Posted Feedback page will be uninterrupted or error free or that any information is free of rogue programming.

Under no circumstances, including negligence, shall the Province be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages that may result from the use or inability to use the website, including without limitation use of or reliance on information available on the website, interruptions, errors, defects, mistakes, omissions, deletions of files, delays in operation, or transmission, non-delivery of information, disclosure of communications, or any other failure of performance.

You hereby release and waive any and all claims and/or liability against the Province arising from or in connection with your use of the website. You also agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless, the Province, from and against, any and all claims or liability, including costs and attorney fees, arising from or in connection with your use of the website or failure to abide by applicable law.
