Roundtable on the Environment and the Economy
The Roundtable on the Environment and the Economy was created to provide an opportunity for stakeholder groups to work with the B.C. government on environmental policy priorities to strike a balance between sustainable resource development and the protection of human health and the environment.
The Roundtable on the Environment and the Economy is composed of representatives from communities, industry, labour, First Nations and the environmental sector. It was established in March 2014 as part of the Minister of Environment's mandate to find the right balance between economic development and environmental protection.
Topics for discussion are set by Environment Minister Mary Polak. The roundtable is chaired by West Vancouver-Sea to Sky MLA Jordan Sturdy, Parliamentary Secretary for Energy Literacy and the Environment for the Minister of Environment, and meetings are scheduled every three to four months.
