Welcome to the British Columbia seafood industry statistics website.

A: All data tables, graphs and information has been updated to include 2010 production and harvests, landed and farmgate values, as well as wholesale values of processed seafood products.


In 2010, British Columbia seafood was served in approximately 2 billion meals in 74 countries.

British Columbia's fisheries and aquaculture sector has four principal economic components:

Much of the economic activity associated with the sector is located in rural communities. The non-tidal sport fish and the freshwater aquaculture components are spread throughout the interior of the province, while aquaculture and seafood processing activities occur in coastal locations on the islands and mainland B.C.
