Freshwater Hatcheries in British Columbia

British Columbia commercial finfish hatcheries produce eggs, fingerlings and smolts, and at times adult fish. These are then transferred to other facilities for further grow out where they are ultimately harvested for food market sales.

Primary species cultured in these operations are Atlantic salmon, Pacific salmon (chinook and coho), tilapia, kokanee and rainbow trout.
