A:Just released - the 2011 Seafood Industry Year In Review publication with harvests and values of commercially captured and cultured BC seafood. Data on our export markets is also included along with a progress report on Marine Stewardship Council Certification.
In 2010, British Columbia seafood was served in approximately 2 billion meals in 74 countries.
British Columbia's fisheries and aquaculture sector has four
principal economic components:
2001-2010 Data Tables and Graphs

Much of the economic activity associated with the sector is located
in rural communities. The non-tidal sport fish and the freshwater
aquaculture components are spread throughout the interior of the
province, while aquaculture and seafood processing activities occur in coastal locations on the islands and mainland B.C.
