Frequently Asked Questions
How many items can I put in one shipment?
Multiple specimens may be included on one permit application; however, all articles must have been hunted by the same hunter (only one hunter on each CITES application).
What can I do if the hunter wants to leave with his wildlife directly after his/her hunt has been completed?
Apply for a Pre-Issued CITES Permit as follows:
- Please call PASB at the above phone number and indicate that you require a Pre-Issued CITES Permit. "Pre-issued" means that PASB will forward a CITES to the Service BC Office or FrontCounter BC office before the animals has actually been harvested.
- You will be asked to complete a CITES application form and indicate on the top of the application form that it is "PRE-ISSUE". The application must be paid for in advance.
- The Service BC/FrontCounter BC staff will fax your completed application to PASB.
- Upon review of your application, PASB will forward the Pre-Issued CITES permit to the Service BC/FrontCounter BC office with instructions. This office will call you for pickup. If the species is for a compulsory inspected animal, at the time of pickup, you must provide the Compulsory Inspection Data Sheet (CI).
- If the hunt was unsuccessful, no refunds will be provided.
