Trends in Greenhouse Gas Emissions in British Columbia
Total greenhouse gas emissions have been rising in line with the increasing B.C. population.

Total greenhouse gas emissions rose more than 29 per cent between 1990 and 2004, in line with increasing population; emissions for 2005 were slightly lower. Greenhouse gas emissions per person were highest in 2004, but have remained about the same since the 1990s.

The level of greenhouse gas emissions in B.C. is the second provincial lowest in Canada and lower than in the adjacent state of Washington.
