Change Management

We would like to hear from you! Do you have comments, suggestions or ideas concerning the wildlife habitat ratings (standards, procedures, project management) and associated data management applications and tools?

While the Resource Information Standards Committee (RISC[formerly RIC]) change management policy states that changes to standards documents should be minimized, it is expected that standards will evolve and improve over time. To encourage input and feedback from clients, change management procedures have been developed (http://ilmbwww.gov.bc.ca/risc/o_docs/other/richange.htm).

The Wildlife and Wildlife Habitat Inventory Section, as the data custodian, is responsible for changes to the WHR standards. The Wildlife Interpretations Subcommittee (part of the RISC Terrestrial Ecosystems Working Group) is the advisory body that addresses issues related to the WHR standards. Any proposed changes to the standards will be reviewed by this subcommittee.

If you have comments or suggestions on the BC Wildlife Habitat Ratings Standards or associated data management applications and tools, please email us. Your request will be acknowledged and, if appropriate, reviewed by the Wildlife Interpretations Subcommittee when it next meets.
