User's Guide for ERM Mapping Tool

Getting Started

If you have access (see sample data) to spatial data, a ecosystem map (EM) database, and a ratings table, all in valid formats, then the first step in using the ERM Mapping Tool is to open the EM spatial data by selecting the 'Open EM Spatial Data...' menu option.

Selecting this menu option initiates a series of dialogs in which you browse for and specify spatial data, one or more ecosystem map databases, one or more ratings tables, and a working directory.

Upon successful loading of these various data sources, the ERM Mapping Tool informs you that you can start selecting other menu options from the ERM-MapTool menu. If you save your work as an Arcview project, then next time you open the project or session all the original data will be restored; you need not reselect data sources, nor a working directory.
