Wildlife Guidelines
for Commercial Backcountry Recreation in British Columbia
With its spectacular natural scenic landscapes and
biological diversity, B.C. offers some of the finest
outdoor recreation opportunities in the world. Ecotourism
and adventure travel is one of the fastest growing segments
of the B.C. tourism industry.
The Ministry
of Environment, in collaboration with stakeholders and
the public, developed Interim Wildlife Guidelines for
Commercial Backcountry Recreation. Their purpose is
to ensure that growth of the commercial recreation industry
is environmentally sustainable and is supported by policies
to protect BC's wildlife values.
PLEASE
NOTE: These Interim Guidleines have been superceded
by the new Wildlife Guidelines for Backcountry
Tourism/Commercial Recreation. For
