Report a Sighting
You can directly enter incidental observations of any species that you observe (not just amphibians) into the Provincial Database called Wildlife Species Inventory using these instructions [PDF 793KB]. We also suggest you print out a few copies of the Incidental Sightings Form [PDF 974KB] and take it with you when you go hiking or camping so that you can remember to collect all the pertinent information when you observe an amphibian or reptile. Once you are back at the computer you can transfer the data from your paper form to the BC Frogwatch CMN data entry site (coming soon). It helps to have the Instructions for filling out the online Incidental Observation Form [PDF 2.83MB] printed out to guide you the first few times you enter data.
If you are a long-term monitoring observer, print out paper copies of the Long-term Monitoring Form [PDF 433KB] to take with you in the field. This will ensure that you collect all the necessary data when on site. Once you are back at the computer you can transfer the data from your paper form to the BC Frogwatch CMN data entry site. It helps to have the Instructions for filling out the online Long-term Monitoring Form [PDF 2.83MB] printed out to guide you the first few times you enter data.
