Temperature Sensitive Streams

The minister responsible for the Wildlife Act, the Minister of Environment or delegate, by order may designate a portion of a fish stream as a temperature sensitive stream under the authority of Section 15 of the Government Actions Regulation. The designation of a stream as Temperature Sensitive may occur if:

  1. trees are required adjacent to the stream to manage the temperature of the designated portion for the protection of fish, and
  2. management of the temperature of the designated portion is not otherwise provided.

There are currently no streams designated as Temperature Sensitive. As designations of Temperature Sensitive Streams occur, information about the designation will be updated on this website.
