Stewardship Information

Stewardship information is available to ministry staff, other agencies and organizations, and the public through ministry websites, publications on websites and in digital e-libraries, and as printed materials (see also Related Links and Publications). The information is intended to increase awareness of the importance of biodiversity conservation, particularly conserving, restoring, and protecting wildlife and habitat.

Information topics include biodiversity in B.C. - species and the habitats in which they live – and may take the form of species and ecosystems at risk brochures and fact sheets, species status reports and recovery plans, frogwatch factsheets, mammals in BC, safety guides and a variety of technical and non-technical documents.

Recent initiatives included working with local government (municipal and regional) on strategies for how the Province could help them protect species and ecosystems at risk within their respective jurisdictions. Read the discussion paper
