If your project is unable to follow all of the conditions and mitigation measures prescribed, the Operational Statements or incorporate Best Management Practices your project may negatively impact fish and or fish habitat and result in a harmful alteration, disruption or destruction (HADD) of fish habitat. In this case, you should contact the appropriate DFO Habitat Management Area office for further guidance on your proposed plans to ensure your project is conducted in compliance with the Fisheries Act. Should you determine that a HADD can not be avoided please complete and submit a project information package to the appropriate DFO Habitat Management Area office to facilitate a Fisheries Act Authorization.
Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations (FLNRO)
Water Approvals and Notifications must be submitted to the FrontCounter BC office nearest to the proposed works. FrontCounterBC will review your proposal and foward it to the Ministry of Environment (to Water Stewardship for Approvals or Environmental Stewardship for Notifications).
