Wetlands in B.C.
Wetland Survey
The survey was commissioned in the fall of 2002 by the
Wetland Working Group (WWG), whose members include Ducks Unlimited Canada,
Canadian Wildlife Service, Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection,
Ministry of Sustainable Resource Management, West Coast Environmental
Law Foundation, Federation of BC Naturalists, and the BC Wildlife Federation
- Wetland Education Project.
The project goal was to highlight the significant work
being done by individuals, organizations and government to protect wetlands
in B.C., and to ascertain the location and kinds of projects that are
being undertaken.
There are three parts to the survey: the first part is
an introduction, the second part is the actual survey,
and the third is a list of consultants working on wetland
protection in B.C. Every
effort was undertaken to make the survey as accurate
as possible, however, if you notice any discrepancies,
or would like to add additional projects,
please contact the
Ecosystems Branch, Ministry of Environment.
