Floodplain Mapping Video
"Floodplain Mapping," an 11-minute videotape on identification of areas prone to flooding in British Columbia, is now available. The video was prepared for educational purposes in co-operation with Environment Canada and explains the nature of river flooding and efforts to manage floodplain lands starting with their delineation on maps.
The video presents information on how mapping is produced and its use in land-use planning and floodproofing of future development. It is suitable for presentation to community groups as well as schools.
