Data Searches and Information
To have a better understanding about the complex nature of water
itself, data are needed about water quality, quantity, surface
water, ground water, licensed use, fish habitat, flood events
and hazards, dike and dam safety, weather patterns, and forecasts.
Due to the range of information collected and analyzed, and the
multiple ways that the data are used to inform all of us, the
data are stored in databases specific to each of their purposes.
Details about the databases and their primary functions can be
found under the General Information section. The majority of databases
are available to the general public, however, there are a few
that are restricted to ministry staff, with related data being
made available upon request. All the databases have been listed
under the appropriate headings below.
