Ground Water Quality Fact Sheets

These seven fact sheets provide general information on total and faecal coliform bacteria; nitrate; arsenic; fluoride; sodium; iron and manganese; and hardness and their main occurrence in the province. The summary of ground water quality is based on a review of historical Water Quality Check Program results.

The information in the fact sheets is intended to encourage private well owners and users to test their well water quality on an ongoing basis and to provide information to better protect private domestic drinking water sources.

For specific information on testing your well water supply, contact your local public health inspector.
